Help

The things that go wrong most often, and what to do about them.

Getting in

I cannot sign in

Use the 'Forgot password' link on the sign-in page. It sends a link that works for a short time and can only be used once, and using it signs out every other device.

If the e-mail does not arrive within a few minutes, check the spam folder, then confirm you are using the address you signed up with — a reset link is only ever sent to an address that has an account, and we do not say which addresses those are.

It says there have been too many attempts

Sign-in attempts are limited to slow down somebody guessing passwords. The limit clears on its own — waiting fifteen minutes is enough in almost every case.

If you are on a shared or office connection, someone else on the same network may have used the attempts. Waiting still clears it.

The handle I want is unavailable

There are three reasons, and the message on screen tells you which one applies. Somebody has already claimed it; it is reserved by the platform; or it is a protected name that needs a claim before it can be used.

The third case is not a dead end. If the name is genuinely yours, the screen offers a route to claim it, and a person reviews the evidence.

Your page

My page is not showing up

The commonest reason by far is that it has not been published. A draft exists only for you — open the editor and press Publish.

If it is published and still not appearing, give it a minute and reload without the cache. If it is still missing after that, tell us the handle.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on the plans that include it. Add the domain under Settings → Custom domain and create the two DNS records it shows, wherever your domain's DNS is managed — that is not always where you bought it. DNS changes usually take a few minutes, occasionally a few hours.

Verify DNS checks each step separately: ownership, the domain pointing to LinkMe, the secure connection, and your page being served. The domain shows as live only once all four pass.

A root domain such as example.com cannot use a CNAME at most DNS providers, GoDaddy included. Connect www.example.com instead and forward the root to it, or use an ALIAS or CNAME-flattening record if your provider offers one.

Your account

How do I change my e-mail address or password?

Both are on the account screen. Changing your password signs out every other device, which is deliberate — it is what makes changing it useful after a scare.

A new e-mail address has to be confirmed before it replaces the old one, so a typo cannot lock you out.

Can I get a copy of my data?

Yes, from the account screen, as a single file. It contains your account details, every page, your audience and form replies, and daily view and click totals.

You do not have to ask us and there is no waiting period.

How do I delete my account?

From the account screen. It asks for your password and for you to type the word delete, then removes your account, your pages and your audience immediately. Your handles become available to anyone.

It cannot be undone, and we cannot get the content back afterwards — take a copy of your data first if you want one.

A small number of accounts cannot be deleted this way, because they have sold templates or have payout records attached. The screen says so plainly and points you at us.

Something is wrong

Someone is impersonating me

Report the page. You do not need an account to do it, and telling us who you are is the fastest way for us to check the claim.

If it is your copyrighted work being used rather than your identity, the copyright notice process is the faster route.

I got an error with a reference code

Send it to us. That code identifies the exact fault in our records, which usually means we can see what happened without needing you to reproduce it.

The site is down or in maintenance

Check the status page. If maintenance is on, it says so and gives an expected time; your pages and content are untouched while it is.

None of this is my problem

Then write to us and a person will read it. Tell us what you were doing and what happened instead, and include any reference code you were shown.
